Hardbopjazz Posted July 24, 2019 Report Posted July 24, 2019 Here is Oscar Peterson for Budweiser. Quote
JSngry Posted July 24, 2019 Report Posted July 24, 2019 Sonny did one for Pioneer, iirc. Wanting to say that Miles did one for some motorcycle company? do we count the series of Ella for Memorex? The most memorable of them all, though, imo: Quote
Rooster_Ties Posted July 24, 2019 Report Posted July 24, 2019 That Oscar Peterson ad for Bud, OMG. I guess, if nothing else, it certainly was a product of the time (early-to-mid 80's). Quote
Ken Dryden Posted July 24, 2019 Report Posted July 24, 2019 The audio for the Oscar Peterson commercial was laughably bad... Quote

Hardbopjazz Posted July 24, 2019 Author Report Posted July 24, 2019 I guess the Williamsburg Bridge didn't have the clout, so tell everyone Sonny played on the Brooklyn Bridge. Quote
Dan Gould Posted July 24, 2019 Report Posted July 24, 2019 The OP in the OP was just terrible. But did anyone notice the "that guy" actor playing the bartender? Wonder if that was one of his earliest gigs, whoever he is. Quote

OK were Standards and Practices that loose back in the seventies? Because the wet t-shirt is pretty darn revealing, if fleetingly so ... Quote

Well, the 1970's were when Adrienne Barbeau, Suzanne Somers, Loni Anderson and Farrah Fawcett-Majors became TV stars because of their "talents" . . . Quote
Rooster_Ties Posted July 24, 2019 Report Posted July 24, 2019 No musicians, but too good a commercial not to share somewhere... Quote
AllenLowe Posted July 24, 2019 Report Posted July 24, 2019 no one remembers but Harold Vick was in a Chemical Bank commercial - and I think calendar - in the middle '70s. I remember he drove up to one gig in a Mercedes and told everybody it was thanks to the commercial. Harold was a good looking guy. Quote
jazztrain Posted July 24, 2019 Report Posted July 24, 2019 (edited) A 2-fer. The first one is a hoot. The second one is the Schaeffer beer commercial. Having trouble embedding the video file. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eHGMMuD4Vag Edited July 24, 2019 by jazztrain Quote
jazztrain Posted July 24, 2019 Report Posted July 24, 2019 Stretching the category a bit for Aretha: Quote
