SUMMARY

One in this jazz music series that features American musicians of the 1950s, performing live at the New York City jazz club Birdland. For the first set of this program hosted by William B. Williams, Roy "Little Jazz" Eldridge performs with his all-star jazz group. Featuring Eldridge on trumpet, Horace Silver on piano, Coleman Hawkins on tenor sax, Curly Russell on bass, and Art Blakey on drums, the group plays "Disorder at the Border" and "Stuffy." In the second set, blues singer Arthur Prysock performs "I Only Have Eyes for You," "Blue Velvet," "I Didn't Sleep a Wink Last Night," and "Without a Song." Includes a public service announcement for the Red Cross blood bank program, and promos for the radio series "The Red Skelton Show," "The Martin and Lewis Show," "You Bet Your Life," and "Dragnet."
