I streamed some of this on iTunes, but I have to admit it did nothing for me, particularly the title track (something about the jazz vocals rubbed me the wrong way).

On Concord?  More likely to get "Chick Corea Plays for Lovers" 34 minute anthology.

Completely agree... but I might grab this one in spite of her singing.

I hate to give my impressions after hearing the album in its entirety just once.

One thing for certain, it's not just for lovers. I wonder what John has against lovers. That's how he happened, after all...

I have to admit this is the first Chick album in a decade I wasn't crazy about  when I first heard about it.  I'm gonna get it at some point, just not now.  The website exclusive Vigilette, Akoustic Band Live, and Japan only Trilogy 2 are great however.

It's an uneven release. The playing is brilliant throughout. He sure knows how to pick the band members. The tracks that stand out are the two Yellow Nimbus cuts and Zyryab. I would get rid of the title track, the Desafinado, the Stravinsky Pas De Deux, the Prelude to My Spanish Heart, and it would be a solid, virtuoso Latin jazz band album.
It's now in my to sell or trade stack.
