Dan Gould
Jesus Christ what makes people like that think they should take their damn shirts off in public? Loser with a capital L.
ghost of miles
Dear baseball godz, Please return Aaron Judge to right field as soon as possible. Signed, Yankee fans everywhere
Matthew
Angel Hernandez, just doing his thing... Edited June 6, 2019 by Matthew
Dan Gould
I saw the first one it was obviously very lame. Some of the other three not so egregious. But doesn't this clown have a lawsuit against MLB alleging discrimination due to his being Latino? As richly deserving as he is of getting shit-canned I am afraid it will never happen. Brad
I doubt this is the last time we will see Angel.
catesta
Pedro on Angel. “Major League Baseball needs to do something about Angel,” Martinez said. “It doesn’t matter how many times he sues Major League Baseball. He’s as bad as there is.”
ghost of miles
D.J. LeMahieu *is* “The Machine”: Yankees’ LeMahieu leads MLB in RISP BA 26-53 with RISP?! Oh, we’ll find a way to keep him in the lineup once Didi returns. Fortunately he can play all three infield bases... forget this “super-sub” business. ghost of miles
Yankees' rotation is hanging by a thread and the bullpen was absolutely terrible on this road trip--they did their best to give away another game today. But frankly I think the American League season is shaping up as a contest to see who gets pummeled by the Astros in the playoffs. (Not discounting the Twins or the Rays either, who are playing as well or better than NY and Boston.)

Hint: it's the one that is 14-21 against teams above .500.
Brad
Tonight is the first installment of the Subway Series. Frankly, I can do without inter league play but the SS is still fun and a good draw. Yankee Stadium will be sold out as I’m sure CitiField will be sold out when the series resumes in July.
ghost of miles
15 Ks in 6 IP tonight for 20-year-old Yankee pitching prospect Deivi Garcia, who was recently promoted to the AA Trenton club. Wouldn’t be surprised to see this kid called up come September...

Yeah, probably another year or so before we see how well he'll fly at MLB level as a potential regular starter. Yankees' rotation this season and next continues to be their biggest question mark IMO. CC will be gone, Happ is already 36, and what will Severino be like when he returns later this summer? Will Domingo German be able to sustain the form he showed for the first two months of this year? Will Paxton continue to be an injury-prone pitcher? How effective will Jordan Montgomery be when he finally comes back from TJ surgery? There's definitely opportunity for Garcia if his stuff proves to be of MLB quality.

Yep, Yankees pitching is a permanent roll-over of new work in progress which also seems to drain energy from the whole team .... there is a high quality bullpen though .... ghost of miles
...aaaannnd the Tampa Bay Rays continue with their vaunted outside-the-box thinking: Rays suggest playing half their home games in Montreal *This is not an Onion article*
Brad
I don’t think it’s a bad idea, perhaps as a preparatory move to Montreal. Tampa’s management is very forward thinking.
JSngry
but...there was some team (not the Sonics?) that played NBA in OKC prior to the Sonics moving there. Was it New Orleans after Katrina? Seemingly a test of the market's viability. Might be the same here, if not for Tampa, maybe a team like the St. Louis Browns or Seattle Pilots or Washington Senators? Then again, the Expos ended up getting no love, and that was sad.
Brad
Mets have fired their pitching coach and named The Vulture as his replacement. He’s all of 82. Maybe if they had some bodies who had some talent they wouldn’t have had to replace the pitching coach.
JSngry
He's still alive? Who knew! Proof (as if more is needed) that windbreakers are the key to longevity. Windbreakers and a good look of fuquitousosity. The Vulture indeed!

mjazzg
Thanks Brad, I'm going on Sunday. Not too sure how much of the nuance I'll understand but certainly looking forward to the experience. ghost of miles
Welp, Giancarlo Stanton won’t be making the trip—he just landed on the IL for 10 days (and quite likely longer) with a knee injury incurred during an awkward slide the other night. Ffs. Best wishes to any and all UK members attending either game!
