Dan Gould Posted March 15, 2019 Report Posted March 15, 2019 anyone have more info for this one than what is in discogs? https://www.discogs.com/Lou-Donaldson-Blues-3/release/5619435 I paid like $3 for a copy. I've known the label for some questionable releases like a live Freddie Hubbard with Junior Cook in the 70s and figured I'd take a shot at this. But its pretty confusing, as Foster is listed but there's organ on at least one track, I think its electric piano on another though it might be organ also, and there's a track with a trumpeter I am pretty sure is Bill Hardman. Overall its not the worst obscure Donaldson record to hear (those would be the Cotillion releases, and a special thumbs down on Poinciana), only B1, City, Country City sounds like a badly conceived 70s track. The rest is fine if nothing truly special.. So if anyone has other details on this I'd appreciate it! Quote
