felser Posted August 13, 2019 Report Posted August 13, 2019 That is a gorgeous set. I own it and feel sort of guilty whenever I play it, because it is so opulent. Quote
EKE BBB Posted August 13, 2019 Author Report Posted August 13, 2019 (edited) First T. Rex (by then Tyrannosaurus Rex) disc. Always loved the album title! 😂 Edited August 13, 2019 by EKE BBB Quote

Brad Posted August 14, 2019 Report Posted August 14, 2019 Disc 1 yesterday and Disc 2 today. Listening to Melanie reminds me why I was never a big fan. Quote

Remember that she was a 22-year old unknown asked to perform in front of 400,000 people with no advance notice. The vibrato has always been hard to take, and I have always found "Brand New Key" mega-annoying, but she has actually written some excellent songs, and "Lay Down" is still a moving memoir of her Woodstock impressions. I'm off work Thurs-Fri, but plan to listen to the 10-CD set next Mon-Wed. Quote
EKE BBB Posted August 14, 2019 Author Report Posted August 14, 2019 4th and last disc as Tyrannosaurus Rex. First step towards electrification. Quote

Skip and focus on so many wonderful artists and bands: Jimi, Janis, CCR, CS&N, Grateful Dead, Canned Heat, The Who, Jefferson Airplane, Joe Cocker, Johnny Winter, Paul Butterfield, The Band... oh, my!
