mjazzg Posted January 11, 2019 Report Posted January 11, 2019 Very sad news, condolences to those on the board who knew him On Monday I saw a quintet of UK musicians (including Alexander Hawkins of this parish) play a very intense and thought provoking version of 'Non-Cognitive Aspects Of The City'. I bought a copy of 'Song for' off the back of the experience. I've been thinking a lot about Mr Jarman this week, now this... Quote
felser Posted January 11, 2019 Report Posted January 11, 2019 So sorry. I just finished working through the big ECM AEC box, which heightened my appreciation of him/them even more. Giants. Quote

ghost of miles Posted January 11, 2019 Report Posted January 11, 2019 Very sorry to hear this, especially for Chuck and others who were friends or knew him in either a musical or personal capacity. The recent ECM box has sent me back to a lot of Art Ensemble of Chicago material in general and renewed my appreciation for Jarman's contributions in general. I'll break out the Delmark leader dates today and play some of them on the afternoon show next week. Quote

danasgoodstuff Posted January 11, 2019 Report Posted January 11, 2019 Mr. Jarman made huge contributions to music which people are going to be dealing with for a long time to come and you helped this happen Chuck. Thanks to both of you. Quote
