optatio Posted January 10, 2019 Report Posted January 10, 2019 Thanks for the information about this new release. I saw all three, but not together! Quote
Ken Dryden Posted January 10, 2019 Report Posted January 10, 2019 Great news. I never saw in person, but he was a delightful phone interview. Quote
king ubu Posted January 10, 2019 Report Posted January 10, 2019 just in case: the complete Dreyfus box has just been reissued in a slightly expanded edition as well (and it costs a 40€ from amazon.fr): https://www.amazon.fr/Complete-Dreyfus-Jazz-Reco/dp/B07HHPZZQ4/ my copy arrived yesterday, sturdy box in the same build as the Vogue boxes, but glossy ... covers are designed LP-like, no liners or booklet, but most (for one album I didn't see any recording date, but I assume that corresponds with the initial info) of the relevant info is printed on the back covers And Petrucciani's five OWL albums were reissued (over a year ago already) as part of another, really cheap box (filmsy stuff, but you get what you pay for, right?): (edit: "five of" seems to be correct, there are more Owl albums?) Pim Posted April 6, 2020 Report Posted April 6, 2020 Playing this one now and it’s great! It’s unfortunate the guy hardly ever get mentioned here on the board. Great piano player with a great sound. Quote

Great piano player with a great sound. Yes! He was a tremendous musician. I haven't gotten 'round to ordering the live CD from Karlsruhe. But today I'm going to pull some Petrucciani discs from the shelf and give 'em a spin. Thanks for the prompt. Quote
Pim Posted April 6, 2020 Report Posted April 6, 2020 I think you will not regret it Hutchfan. Great musicians and great compositional choices. Michel is in suprème condition Quote
