Milestones Posted November 18, 2018 Report Posted November 18, 2018 Are we talking about Frances Davis, one time spouse of Miles Davis, or Francis Davis, the writer on jazz? Quote
JSngry Posted November 18, 2018 Report Posted November 18, 2018 Oh, shit, it's Frances, my bad. So sorry. Fucking vowels... Quote
medjuck Posted November 18, 2018 Report Posted November 18, 2018 Oh dear. I saw her a couple of times when she was working at the Hamburger Hamlet in Hollywood. She was the hostess and was very pleasant. Quote
chewy-chew-chew-bean-benitez Posted November 18, 2018 Report Posted November 18, 2018 RIP- she was not only miles wife but a LA Legend in her own right Quote
felser Posted November 18, 2018 Report Posted November 18, 2018 Francis, as far as I know, is still doing fine and teaching jazz history at Temple University here in Philly. We email each other occasionally. In case people aren't aware, he's married to Terry Gross, host of NPR's "Fresh Air". Temple has a pretty amazing jazz faculty, including Eric Alexander, Tim Warfield, Terrell Stafford, Carla Cook, Tim Green, Byron Landham, Joe Magnerelli, Dick Oatts, and John Swana. Quote
