ICP LP 006 Groupcomposing - Corbett vs. Dempsey release

Corbett Vs. Dempsey have released (CD) in their latest batch the ICP LP Groupcomposing (Mengelberg, Brotzmann, Parker, Rutherford, Bennink x2, Bailey - live 1970)

I'm wondering if it will be a "needle drop" as is the version in the ICP Box set.

They plan to release more ICP material down the track - I presume these will be legit but what about the source material?

Maybe I'll drop a line to John Corbett & see.

They ought to re-do the great Nichols/Monk stuff - one of them, at least half an album (LP-side I guess) is almost unlistenable in the box, alas.

Some 70+ minutes, me believe  ....

ICP 25 was originally a cassette release then 6 out of the 8 titles were added/rereleased to the ICP 26 CD release. 

It was the ICP 25 disc that sounded atrocious (disc 29 in box set) 

I eventually managed to get a "corrected" replacement with much improved sound from ICP last May (2017)

I haven't had Groupcomposing on deck in many years. I was never as into that title as some other early ICP records, but could stand to drop the needle and reinvestigate.

The trio record was/probably still is on youtube, and it is indeed excellent & well worth it imo.

agreed. They're all good -- have them on LP -- but Tetterettet has the edge.

"Tetterettet" is an onomatopoeia for the sound of a trumpet. Which is somewhat funny, because no one's playing trumpet on this session.

But it's a great record.

Hmmm, all the ICP releases are gone from Spotify. That's a shame. On the positive side, ICP started positing their concert recordings on bandcamp: https://icporchestra.bandcamp.com/ . I assume the old releases will be posted there at some point too.
