page Posted October 1, 2018 Report Posted October 1, 2018 Le roi des chansonniers! La tristesse et la passion vont de pair. Merci à un grand créateur! Qu’il repose en paix. Quote
GA Russell Posted October 1, 2018 Report Posted October 1, 2018 RIP. Like Paul, I too think of Shoot the Piano Player. https://www.amazon.com/Shoot-Piano-Player-Criterion-Collection/dp/B000BC8SWO/ Years ago I picked up a CD called Jazznavour. I'll look for it tonight. Quote
Teasing the Korean Posted October 1, 2018 Report Posted October 1, 2018 I was reading Aznevour's obit this morning silently, and I quietly said aloud, "France's Frank Sinatra." My wife heard me and replied, "I thought it was Francis Albert Sinatra." RIP. Quote
Cyril Posted October 3, 2018 Report Posted October 3, 2018 Did Frank Sinatra write his own songs??? Aznavour, best known for songs in his native French also sang in English, Italian, Spanish, German and Armenian, selling more than 180 million records. His personal style was that of a crooner, backed by a jazzy big band, and singing of love and nostalgia. RIP, Charles. (The last of the troubadours). Thanks for your music .... Quote
Balladeer Posted October 5, 2018 Report Posted October 5, 2018 Wonderful voice, moving singer, charming music. Merci, Azna! Quote
