duaneiac Posted September 6, 2018 Report Posted September 6, 2018 (edited) This year's Grand Prize winner in the contest which honors well-crafted bad writing went to 17 year old Tanya Menezes from my hometown of San Jose (move over Joey Chestnut, we have a new hero). It is an entry which made me laugh out loud at the laundromat when I read it! In an article I read in the local paper, she said she had been working on and refining that one sentence since her freshman year. Nice to see her hard work paid off. duaneiac Posted September 7, 2018 Author Report Posted September 7, 2018 Can bad writing ever have too many commas? Quote
The Magnificent Goldberg Posted September 7, 2018 Report Posted September 7, 2018 Tom Lehrer did it better in '53 I hold your hand in mine, dear I press it to my lips I take a healthy bite from Your lovely fingertips My joy would be complete, dear If you were only here But still I keep your hand As a lovely souvenir The night you died I cut it off I really don't know why For now each time I kiss it I get bloodstains on my tie I'm sorry now I killed you For our love was something fine! Until they come to get me I shall hold your hand in mine! MG Quote
