jazzbo Posted August 16, 2019 Report Posted August 16, 2019 Okay, that's true. . . . Doubt those masters were used in these Originals series, could be wrong. That said, I have the Burrell, and don't think any of the mastering comes from an RVG release. Quote
Shrdlu Posted August 16, 2019 Report Posted August 16, 2019 When they made up these sets, they could have used the definitive Blue Note Works masterings (no tracks that were not on the original LPs, of course). Actually, I have never heard a bad JRVG CD. Toward the end of that series, some bonus tracks were added. An outstanding example is The Three Sounds' "Out Of This World", which has a take of "I'll Be Around", called "Long Version", which is not available anywhere else. The JRVG CD also includes "Over The Rainbow" - I don't know if that pops up elsewhere. Quote
JSngry Posted August 16, 2019 Report Posted August 16, 2019 Why do they say original albums and then you open them up and they're CDs? Talk about luring me in under a false pretense... Quote

JSngry Posted August 16, 2019 Report Posted August 16, 2019 Like the photo album I bought that didn't have any pictures in it...where is the decency in these things? Quote

JSngry Posted August 16, 2019 Report Posted August 16, 2019 That laser on my CD turntable hurts my eyes, so much for that Play Six or whatever it's called, you know where you stack them and they drop down on top of each other. Quote

And how do DJs manage to scratch on a CD turntable anyway? Edited August 17, 2019 by erwbol Quote
Teasing the Korean Posted July 30, 2020 Report Posted July 30, 2020 (edited) I have picked up a few of these sets. Curiously, some have bonus tracks and some do not. Also, some sets have the back covers reproduced from the LPs, and some do not. Edited August 1, 2020 by Teasing the Korean Quote
