Okay, that's true. . . . Doubt those masters were used in these Originals series, could be wrong.

That said, I have the Burrell, and don't think any of the mastering comes from an RVG release.

When they made up these sets, they could have used the definitive Blue Note Works masterings (no tracks that were not on the original LPs, of course).

Actually, I have never heard a bad JRVG CD. Toward the end of that series, some bonus tracks were added. An outstanding example is The Three Sounds' "Out Of This World", which has a take of "I'll Be Around", called "Long Version", which is not available anywhere else. The JRVG CD also includes "Over The Rainbow" - I don't know if that pops up elsewhere.

Why do they say original albums and then you open them up and they're  CDs? Talk about luring me in under a false pretense...

And what a false pretense it was when the album you bought was a single 12" slab of vinyl, rather than an album of 78s.

You're just looking at them from too far away.  Up close, they're as big as an LP!

That laser on my CD turntable hurts my eyes, so much for that Play Six or whatever it's called, you know where you stack them and they drop down on top of each other.

And how do DJs manage to scratch on a CD turntable anyway?
