That was playing at the Big Ears Fest last month. I didn't get to see the film, but I saw HIM a couple of times: solo and with Jason Moran.

I had the chance to speak with him 50 years ago when he was playing with Albert Ayler. He seemed like a quiet, gentle, open person.

I can’t get past the firewall but I will never forget seeing Milford last June 2019with Andrew Cyrille at Vision Fest @ Roulette in Brooklyn. He couldn’t walk on his own and was not anywhere near full strength but what an experience for all of us to experience his presence for what we all knew would be the last time.

and to go be able to to approach him and shake his hand before the show?? Priceless

you know, I saw a reunion show of Gayle/Parker/Graves at Vision when they honored Milford some years ago -- a bit less fire and brimstone than this, but still excellent. Glad ICA is doing such a service to the music.

Saw Brotzmann, Parker & Graves maybe 20 years ago and it was immense

nice! saw PB and MG duo in Berlin, 2002 -- it was cool though Milford was having some health issues at the time and that put a slight damper on the proceedings.

I saw them at CBGB’s basement - I kept walking up to stand by the trio to get close. Maybe it was 2000 or 2001

Nah, they didn't mention it on YT either; Glover has played with Milford a ton but Brother Ah, not too much as far as I know.

I missed this article. He must have found out after the 2018 Big Ears Festival. Glad I got to see him while he was still relatively healthy.
