Larry Kart Posted March 31, 2018 Report Posted March 31, 2018 After maybe ten years, the RC003SA remote for my Marantz SA-15S2 CD Player suddenly stopped working. First thought was the batteries needed to be replaced, but no. Any thoughts on a next move? Quote
Justin V Posted March 31, 2018 Report Posted March 31, 2018 There is a new one listed on eBay for about 40 bucks after shipping. There may be other listings as well. Quote
Misterioso Posted March 31, 2018 Report Posted March 31, 2018 I had a Marantz CD16 for more than 20 years and noticed that it would react to signals from a variety of remote controls including Philips, BAT, Musical Fidelity. Worth trying any other remote control you might have lying around somewhere. Quote
JSngry Posted April 1, 2018 Report Posted April 1, 2018 Walk, dammit, WALK! Or else... http://www.instructables.com/id/Repair-your-remote-controls/ Our Panasonic TV Remote started getting really assholey a few months ago, read somewhere that some remotes give up the ghost fairly easily and this was one of them. Ordered a replacement model, got a DIFFERENT model, but it worked anyway. But that's for one of those plasma TVs that has all, literally all, of the controls buttons on the side where even if you do walk up to the tv, you can't find anything except for back in there, so in this case, yeah, remote desired. But my CD player? Geez, I've used it, like...never and a half times? Walk. Unless you're stove up or something, in which case, sorry, no offense. Quote
Rooster_Ties Posted April 1, 2018 Report Posted April 1, 2018 FWIW, I had a CD remote that I thought had bit the dust, wouldn't do a thing even with fresh batteries. Discovered a couple years(!) later that I'd put one of the new batteries in backwards (and probably the initial issue was dead batteries). So maybe double check the batteries are in right? (Couldn't hurt.) Quote
Larry Kart Posted April 1, 2018 Author Report Posted April 1, 2018 That was it. The batteries must have died, and I somehow put the new ones in backwards. Many thanks. Now it's back to my regular job at Missile Command for NORAD. Quote
