Thanks for posting this.

I've never been disappointed by any Hampel music I've heard and I've heard a fair amount. I think he's one of the most underrated of the European free jazz fraternity. It's great that he's still out there presenting his music - I just wish he'd come to London, I'm not aware of him having played here in at least the last the 25 years.

The film archive he talks about must be absolutely astonishing

yeah, got that and the AMM thing too. The AMM session is super. But yes, if you know where to look, it's around. Board rules I believe prohibit specific sites from being mentioned but the stuff is "out there."

I wish he would come to London. One of the last of my true favourite musicians I've yet to see live.

I suspect that at his age he prefers to stay relatively local which is very understandable

I would agree. Never been steered wrong after buying or listening to something he's on.
