This recording was recorded at Bop City in New York in 1950, Club Hangover in San Francisco in 1952, Storyville in Boston in 1953, Basin Street in New York in 1955 and the Brant Inn in Ontario in 1958. Sidemen include Jack Teagarden, Barney Bigard, Edmond Hall, Earl Hines, Marty Napoleon, Arvell Shaw, Milt Hinton, Cozy Cole and Barrett Deems. CD - $17.98   Louis Armstrong – The Standard Oil Sessions (Now Available on LP) The Standard Oil Sessions was recorded in New Orleans in 1950 by the Standard Oil Company for their radio show,"Musical Map of America" and featured Louis Armstrong's All-Stars with Jack Teagarden and Earl Hines. For reasons not known, the broadcast was never aired and Louis was personally given the acetate discs of the session. LP – $24.98   CD – $17.98   Joe Bushkin Live At The Embers 1952 with Buck Clayton The Joe Bushkin Quartet featuring Buck Clayton, Milt Hinton and Jo Jones was captured one night in early 1952, David Sarser lugged one of the first Ampex reel-to-reel tape decks into The Embers to record some of the excellent music being served up nightly by four of the world's best Jazz musicians at the top of their game. CD - $9.98 Click For More Info           Last Of The Mosaic Singles Now On Sale        Ruby Braff - HiFi Salute To Bunny Regularly $15.00, now $10.00 1957 marked the 15th anniversary of the death of the remarkable trumpeter and bandleader Bunny Berigan. To pay homage to Bunny, RCA Victor (Berigan's label for most of his recorded output) decided to bring Ruby Braff and seven mainstream veterans and newcomers to the studio and perform nine tunes associated with Berigan including I Can't Get Started, Marie and Downhearted Blues.. He is joined by Pee Wee Russell, Dick Hafer, Benny Morton, Nat Pierce, Steve Jordan, Walter Page (one of his last recordings) and Buzzy Drootin. The band swings from first note to last and stretches out soulfully on each tune (six of which are over six minutes). Did I Remember?, a bonus track originally issued only on a compilation, completes the sessions. Click For More Info - CD   Slide Hampton - Drum Suite Regularly $15.00, now $10.00 After two high-profile years (1957-59) with Maynard Ferguson as trombonist and key arranger/composer. Slide Hampton struck off on his own as the leader of his own ingeniously conceived octet. While the octet never got off the ground commercially, it was a major creative force in New York for three years, recording for Atlantic among other labels. In April 1962, Slide was given the opportunity to record one album for Columbia's Epic label. The result was Drum Suite, on which Slide brought in guest artists Freddie Hubbard, Yusef Lateef, Tommy Flanagan and Max Roach. Lost in the shuffle of major label business, this album offered some of Slide's best writing, much of which was specifically written for Lateef and Roach. We have resurrected this crown jewel in Hampton's woefully neglected octet discography and remixed it adding two additional tunes. I've been watching for this one it now finally shows as available for pre-order on their site, release date a week away:

The Amazon listing for the Fitzgerald chautauqua sets has a comment complaining that that it's an illegal recording--not cleared through the Estate. That surprised me as I thought Dot Time was a legit label?? (There are also complaints about sound quality.)
