Dan Gould Posted March 5, 2004 Report Posted March 5, 2004 What: A Cyber Celebration of the Birth of the Organissimo Bulletin Board Where: Right here, silly When: 12 pm EST (that's GMT-5) Saturday March 6 Hope this isn't redundant, I just thought that a more specific thread title might serve as a better reminder that tomorrow's the day. Hopefully we can get a nice long list of members in one "place" at the same time, so be sure to sign in as yourself, not anonymously!! Once a group shows up, someone should do a screen shot and post the image. And don't worry, I'll bring the cake: Quote
king ubu Posted March 5, 2004 Report Posted March 5, 2004 Uh, I was hoping Mr Gould would send his private jet to collect us old venus-ians at some central place like Paris and we'd party all together! ubu Quote

Plus some beer for those who lack taste Ubu needs red wine and whisky. Not much else... Beer is fine, if you've got taste as far as beer is concerned (Mort Subite, Leffe, Jever... certainly not that pissy (sorry!) Heineken thing). As far as Whisky is concerned, taste is pretty important, too. Macallan, Oban, Talisker... it was a good ol' single malt that got me through the Dvd of Barefoot Contessa yesterday... ubu Quote
Dr. Rat Posted March 5, 2004 Report Posted March 5, 2004 Mort Subite, Leffe, Jever ubu, I like your taste in beer. Do you know a beer called Sezoen (sp?)? --eric Quote
J.A.W. Posted March 5, 2004 Report Posted March 5, 2004 Absolutely NO Heineken for me, just a Brand Bier or Leffe, and a LARGE Oban (no ice, of course), please. Thanks. Quote
J.A.W. Posted March 5, 2004 Report Posted March 5, 2004 A few of those nice Weizen beers will do too, thank you very much. Quote
couw Posted March 5, 2004 Report Posted March 5, 2004 couw used to drink Brand Bier or Gulpener, and Orval on special ocassions. After he moved, it's been nothing but: and Hans, believe it or not, life is a lot better! Quote
J.A.W. Posted March 5, 2004 Report Posted March 5, 2004 No doubt, but one has to be content with what's available... Quote

bertrand Posted March 6, 2004 Report Posted March 6, 2004 I will probably not be able to join you guys at the allotted time, unfortunately. But here's a tip of the hat and a happy birthday to the greatest jazz forum on the internet! Ron Blake told me last night what cool gentlemen our gracious hosts Jim, Joe and Randy are. Happy birthday organissimo.org! Bertrand. Quote
connoisseur series500 Posted March 6, 2004 Report Posted March 6, 2004 Catesta is in charge of the distaff guests! (Not the distaff boardmembers) Quote
patricia Posted March 6, 2004 Report Posted March 6, 2004 MERRY BIRTHDAY ORGANISSIMO!!!! Presentable???? You ask too much. The time that's shown here is always different that my time [right now, 9:22AM] so I have no idea whether I should be setting up the chairs, because I'm way early, or folding up the chairs, because everybody's leaving. So, what time is it for everybody else?? Quote
Peter Johnson Posted March 6, 2004 Report Posted March 6, 2004 30 minutes to go, Patricia...you're unfashionably early! Wait...I guess I am too... Well, what does one have to do to get a drink in this place? Quote
brownie Posted March 6, 2004 Report Posted March 6, 2004 So, what time is it for everybody else?? It's going to be 6PM soon in most of continental Europe. Quote
JohnS Posted March 6, 2004 Report Posted March 6, 2004 I didn't want to be too early. It's 4.40 in the UK. One year today WOW. Thanks Jim, Joe and Randy for this great board. Quote
couw Posted March 6, 2004 Report Posted March 6, 2004 T-10 mins. So, where is everybody? There are hardly 30 people in, a dozen of which are guests. And I baked a cake too! Ah well, the fewer, the more beer. Quote
