Similarly, Manhattan is getting overrun with global money. Tons of new housing skyscrapers; even if fully bought, I'll bet most of the living spaces are not occupied most of the year. In fact, contemporary art is a surer bet at this point compared to more blue chip markets, but then again a significant Da Vinci obviously doesn't come up for sale often. It was at an exhibition in Amsterdam which had as topic exceptional drawings from history. I really liked the drawing but to be honest I preferred the ones of Rembrandt which were there as well. I saw the famous Mona Lisa (La Gioconda ) at the Louvre, Paris 'Salvator Mundi' is currently the most expensive work ever sold (don't like it at all). The places two, three and four are: 'Interchanged' by Willem de Kooning (254 million euros), 'The card players' by Paul Cézanne (219 million euros) and 'Nafea faa ipoipo' by Paul Gauguin (178 million euros).
