Well, it arguably is one of his best albums, to me his most characteristic, as far as his own playing is concerned.

Now how many alternates are on the second disc that are not on the SACD reissue .....

I am enjoying this CD quite a bit. Haven't gotten to the disc of alternates yet, but will. Max is just so....crisp.

The thing that blows my mind the most is the picture of an actual royalty check for $29.09. I mean, how did they process check w/o MICR lines? I mean, WOW!

was visiting a friend the other day whose aunt, it turns out, went to elementary school in PA with Clark. There is a pic online of a class - might be kindergarten -and her aunt is there, and Clark is the only black kid.

I bet there's more that was recorded, though whether it still survives or not, I don't know. But it seems unlikely that the tunes not represented with alternates were all straight one-take performances.

Here it is.

xls format.

It seems your Excel is rather antique. xlsx files have been the common Excel standard (just like docx for WorD) for something like 10 years now, I guess.

SONNY CLARK ON TIME ANALYSIS.xls

Thnx .... on my small portable I use only Libre Office which doesn`t support xslx .... maybe antique, but sufficient to me ....

Excellent work, Claude - now how essential is the material newly released for someone owning the SACD issue? Hard to decide ...

Indeed. Very difficult to choose because everything is excellent. I enjoyed this analysis, and I’am very happy that you like it.

Merry Christmas!
