Berthold Posted June 20, 2017 Report Posted June 20, 2017 Hello, I´m looking for the Music from this LP from Mosaic 115 "The Benny Morton/Jimmy Hamilton Blue Note Swingtets". I don´t want to look for the LP, but for the Music on it. Does anyone have idea if this Music is also available on CD or as a download (*.flac)? Any hint and recommendation is very welcome! Thanks, Berthold Quote
jazzbo Posted June 20, 2017 Report Posted June 20, 2017 (edited) 14. The Sheik Of Araby - Benny Morton 15. Conversing In Blue - Benny Morton 16. Blues For Clarinet - Jimmy Hamilton 17. Slapstick - Jimmy Hamilton 18. Blues In My Music Room - Jimmy Hamilton I used to know the answer to this off the top of my head. I do know the above tracks are on this EMI Blue Note cd: http://cps-static.rovicorp.com/3/JPG_500/MI0000/168/MI0000168036.jpg?partner=allrovi.com http://cps-static.rovicorp.com/3/JPG_500/MI0000/168/MI0000168037.jpg?partner=allrovi.com Edited June 20, 2017 by jazzbo Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted June 20, 2017 Report Posted June 20, 2017 They were issued in Japan on this - TOCJ-66014 Quote
Berthold Posted June 20, 2017 Author Report Posted June 20, 2017 many thanks for your very quick Response! This one I already own: http://cps-static.rovicorp.com/3/JPG_500/MI0000/168/MI0000168036.jpg?partner=allrovi.com but there are some titles missing especially Sammy Benskin one´s. So now I´m searching for the japanes CD, it seems it´s hard to find ... But let´s see..... Again many thanks! Berthold Quote

Japanese reissues seem to come out and then go out of print in about twenty seconds! gregmo Quote
brownie Posted June 20, 2017 Report Posted June 20, 2017 ...especially those Japanese CDS from the 1999 'Blue Note Classics' series. Still have that Mosaic 115 LP! € Quote
Berthold Posted June 21, 2017 Author Report Posted June 21, 2017 not so good to hear that, but maybe there is another way to come to the Music.... Quote
mikeweil Posted June 21, 2017 Report Posted June 21, 2017 The Mosaic LP is not that hard to find: https://www.discogs.com/sell/release/5383641?ev=rb Quote
Brad Posted June 22, 2017 Report Posted June 22, 2017 I think he was looking for the music on the LP but not the LP Mike. I did see a couple of Chronological Classics on eBay but have no idea if they contain the music you seek. In case you do want the LP, there are a couple of auctions on eBay. Quote
mikeweil Posted June 22, 2017 Report Posted June 22, 2017 Yes, but then the Japanese Blue Note (Jap)TOCJ-66014 [CD] is the only way to go - no other reissue of the four Benskin sides. Quote
Brad Posted June 22, 2017 Report Posted June 22, 2017 I did see one on eBay, although a tad expensive. Quote
Berthold Posted June 25, 2017 Author Report Posted June 25, 2017 Many thanks for your responses! I also found it on eBay - but far too expensive for me. So now I´m looking for someone who can convert a LP to flac or wav files. If that´s in good quality and not so expansive then I will go this way. Quote
mikeweil Posted June 25, 2017 Report Posted June 25, 2017 Still trying to figure out a way to hook my computer to my turntable and amp - whenever it finally works I will think of you. Where are you located? Cannot be too far from where I live ... Quote
Berthold Posted June 26, 2017 Author Report Posted June 26, 2017 Hello Mike, i´d send you a PN. Berthold Quote
bakeostrin Posted July 2, 2017 Report Posted July 2, 2017 The one on Ebay is not TOCJ 66104, but the mini lp cd BNC 2007, a 2003 CD. Like the former cd, it appeared in Japan only, but it was not for sale to the public (some kind of promotion--"Blue Note Club"). It is scarcer than the TOCJ. Quote
