Aggie87 Posted October 29 Report Posted October 29 (edited) Kettleman's Bagel Shop, Bridgewater NJ 26 Oct 2024 ...have been craving a "real" bagel since moving from NJ a year and a half ago. This one fit the bill. Edited October 29 by Aggie87 Quote
Dan Gould Posted October 29 Report Posted October 29 I'm off of bagels since May 31. I think I'd need a better photo to judge their offerings, but Kettleman's is the right name ... don't some "bagel" places skip the boil in water part? Quote

I wouldn't even consider a bagel that wasn't boiled before baking. That's sacrilege! The Einstein Bagels chain doesn't boil, and we think theirs taste awful. But they're sort of the McDonald's of bagels anyway. Mom & pop stores are where they're best. I didn't get a photos of the bagel counter, but this is from Yelp: Quote
JSngry Posted October 29 Report Posted October 29 Einstein's is fine if you don't think of them as bagels. Quote
Kevin Bresnahan Posted October 29 Report Posted October 29 Einstein Brothers used to boil their bagels before baking them and back then, they were pretty good. Once they stopped, the became round pieces of bread that pretended to be bagels. We buy all of our bagels from Bagel World now. They're a 3 store chain in the Boston area. They're worth the drive from Maine. Quote
JSngry Posted October 29 Report Posted October 29 Einstein's are not bagels. The are inoffensive bagel-tangental other-ingredient delivery systems that are literally just around the corner. Quote
Dan Gould Posted October 29 Report Posted October 29 @Aggie87 👍 The bagel flavors look traditional too so ... I am getting a hankering. The bagel place I went to before I got away from them were excellent bagels, highly questionable home-made cream cheese mix-ins. Lox or scallions for me. Quote

The people... really just corporations, denying climate change are only concerned with their pockets & not the future of this planet. It costs money to slow climate change and no company wants to spend their profits for something as meaningless (to them) as the future. The worst thing about it is that it's happening faster than the scientists predicted and at this point, may even be too far along to stop. Quote
