Dan Gould Posted May 23 Report Posted May 23 Neat trick, new book with a forward by a dead guy. This has been in heavy rotation on various channels we receive ... I certainly prefer the original. Quote

But such a personnel, Bud with Miles and Konitz and Blakey must have been a gas, anyway I like Bud most when he ist together with horn players and a strong drummer. As for example Bud with Miles at Carnegie Hall, or Bud with Konitz on a broadcast I think from Leonard Feather, which had also J.J. Johnson, Budd Johnson, Little Benny Harris and Max Roach....... Quote
jazzbo Posted May 29 Report Posted May 29 (edited) Bud is supposedly pictured in the left. Do you feel that is not Bud? I've blown the picture up and it certainly looks like Bud. Edited May 29 by jazzbo Quote

HutchFan Posted June 2 Report Posted June 2 @JSngry, I think Randy Weston is on the left and Max is in the middle.  I don't know who the man is on the right.  Quote
Dan Gould Posted June 2 Report Posted June 2 Earlier posted picture is Harold Vick, unknown location. Someone else suggested a recording session in someone's basement but there doesn't seem to be a record of such a thing.  Second posted photo is Weston, Roach and Geoffrey Holder, best known as the pitchman for 7-Up many many years ago. He was actor, dancer and artist. JSngry Posted June 2 Report Posted June 2 I remember (but did not recognize) Geoffrey Holder. Quite a life! https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geoffrey_Holder Quote
