sgcim Posted May 9, 2017 Report Posted May 9, 2017 I just heard Jimmy Hastings' great flute solo on 'Binoculars' on the National Health album, 'Of Queues and Cures'. I was able to find one song by Caravan (Love Song with Flute) that featured JH on flute, but are there any other albums by Caravan or preferably more jazz-oriented people like Phil Moore, Dave Stewart, Humphrey Lyttleton or any others that featured JH on flute? clifford_thornton Posted May 10, 2017 Report Posted May 10, 2017 He is on Hatfield & The North's "Rotters Club" as well, which is an all-around excellent album. Quote
walt Posted May 10, 2017 Report Posted May 10, 2017 Hastings plays sax and flute on Caravan's "If I Could Do It All Over Again....".Lovely player. Quote
B. Clugston Posted May 10, 2017 Report Posted May 10, 2017 He plays flute and bass clarinet on Soft Machine's Third. He gets a flute solo on Side 2. Quote
sidewinder Posted May 10, 2017 Report Posted May 10, 2017 Remember seeing him live with one of Humphrey Lyttelton's final bands. Fine player, especially on clarinet. Quote
sgcim Posted May 10, 2017 Author Report Posted May 10, 2017 Thanks for the suggestions, guys. It's great to see that he's still doing jazz gigs in London, and playing concerts with Caravan at the age of 79! Quote
