mr jazz Posted May 2, 2017 Report Posted May 2, 2017 Anyone purchased any of these? The Almeida recording is a favorite so on the radar. 96 or 192? Quote
Scott Dolan Posted May 2, 2017 Report Posted May 2, 2017 96, if those are the only two choices. Quote
brewski Posted January 31, 2018 Report Posted January 31, 2018 Not familiar with either. A real treat is the Getz/Chet Baker collaboration ,try it you will like it ! Quote
mr jazz Posted January 31, 2018 Author Report Posted January 31, 2018 I did purchase the dl of Getz/Almeida and can recommend it. More dynamic than the cd version. Quote

I think they're talking about HD Tracks: http://www.hdtracks.com/stan-getz-with-guest-artist-laurindo-almeida-443352 From what I've heard, the audio quality of these Hi Res downloads is all over the map. It varies from recording to recording. It all comes down to the source and the mastering (as usual). Quote
riddlemay Posted February 3, 2018 Report Posted February 3, 2018 Dumb question. If I downloaded a hi-res track from HD Tracks (let's assume for the moment that it's a well-sourced, well-mastered download), and then burned it to a CD (because basically that's the only way I can listen to it on my current home system), do I throw away all the benefits of high-res? Google is your friend here. My Oppo BR player will play almost any resolution so you can either send it via your network or load it on a flash drive and play it though the usb port on the machine.
