Sadly, didn’t catch him play the Ronnies gig that Summer but did catch him at Capital Jazz Fest which was I think, July 1980. Relocated right after the Ally Pally burnt down !  I have the feeling that Pepper played the Charlie Parker 25th Anniversary tribute I saw right after the Ronnies season. He brought the house down with his solo feature.

Must get that ‘Complete Mole’ set (vinyl would be nice).

Slick! - Live at Oil Can Harry's

I've been on the fence on the latest Dolphy release so holding off on that for now. Instead picked up these 2 Resonance releases. Never minded the funkier side of Grant Green.

Tom, I am a big fan of Duke Jordan and like most of his albums, especially those on Steeplechase.

Though I prefer Jordan with a bass and drums, this solo session is very good.

I also have and enjoy his other solo CDs on Steeplechase too.
