paul secor
Coltrane Time - aka Cecil Taylor: Hard Driving Jazz/Stereo Drive Interesting to hear Kenny Dorham on this one. He didn't seem to want to leave his bop comfort zone, even though the other musicians - Cecil and Trane especially - were going to other places on this date. Buddha the Magnificent
rostasi, the people who came through his bands were incredible I saw The New Ice Age at the Last Resort in Athens, but they were appearing as the Hampton Geese Band at that show. Paul McCandless, Karl Ratzer, Billy McPherson. I see that Jimmy Herring, the fantastic jam guitarist with the Colonel's Aquarium Rescue Unit, is going on tour this fall with John McLaughlin. duaneiac
In memory of SF bay area bassist John Shifflet who passed away last week at age 64 of pancreatic cancer. I saw him along with drummer Jason Lewis (both heard here) a few times as part of the young Taylor Eigsti's trio back in the 1990's.
