jeffcrom
Oscar "Papa" Celestin - With Adolphe Alexander (American Music). By the time these 1950 & 1954 sessions were made, Celestin and his band were considered kind of "touristy" and lightweight by jazz purists. This CD sure sounds good to me tonight, though - good-natured, non-doctrinaire, eclectic New Orleans music with enough grit to add some depth.
