soulpope
After a bunch of superb Southern Soul 45`s for Amy, Atlantic and Malaco from the mid 60`s to the early seventies and a subsequent 20 year hiatus - suspended with a EP for a local New Orleans based label in 1986 - Mighty Sam returned with a vengeance in 1992 and this debut for Audioquest remains (one of) the best Soul release(s) of this decade .... was lucky enough witnessing him perform the new (and old !!) material around that time - he was an awe-inspiring singer + showmen making me wonder how he got lost in the shadows for such a long time ....
