HutchFan Posted October 29, 2018 Report Posted October 29, 2018 Bobby Hutcherson - Head On (Blue Note) An atypical Hutch record because all of the pieces (except for one CD bonus track) were written by Todd "Bayeté" Cochran. Quote

(And of course yo might well asl "which LA riots" there's been so many. Yes, skin-wise he was white. Culturally, though, he decided to "live as black" pretty early on and did so until his death. I'd use the word "psychologically" but that implies that there's a race-specific/genetic psychology, and of course there's not. But there is definitely an experiential mindset that comes from living black in America. Otis not only realized that, he embraced it fully. Fully. His books are required reading, imo. Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted October 29, 2018 Report Posted October 29, 2018 Pretty good for a white guy. :-) Quote

On my CD´s is a short piano solo piece that´s untitled and in the liner notes it´s stated that nobody could find a title to that little piece. I´m not sure, it sounds like if you might know it, but that can be Monk´s style, the way he approaches ballads. But I´m not sure, could it be a little theme from "In the Stage Door Canteen" ? Quote
