It's a star-spangled world when your flags are unfurled. So, uh...unfurl? #NOTMETOO!

Corny song, singer is not at all to my liking, but some guy named Stan Applebaum wrote a great chrt for a ban that knows what to do with it.

OH SHIT! That's the guy that did the Charles Colin Bird book, I knew I remembered that name!~

Nothing sacrificed:  sneering sax, brash horns, screaming lead guitar, colon bouncing bass, funky e-keys.  Hard-to-find-physical media though, which has a become a common problem lately; but I've tagged a reputable Euro seller with the CD on discogs for about $20.  hmmmmm.

EDIT:  The Dan "Do It Again" instrumental cover you didn't know you were waiting to hear!  (Kind of like Bale as the Batman you couldn't image getting excited over again, or Craig as a relevant resurrection of the obsolete womanizing suave-spy archetype.)

Eureka Brass Band - In Rehearsal 1956 (American Music). Documentary, to an extent. On some tracks the entire band isn't present; there are partial tunes, and between-takes dialogue is included. But there is much magnificent music here, including four of the stately, slightly ponderous dirges for which the band was famous.

While looking for an online picture, I found Scott Yanow's one-and-a-half-star review at Allmusic. It made my heart hurt.

I´ve almost forgotten how good this is:

It´s interesting, there´s also a BN album of Clifford Brown titled "Clifford Brown Memorial". This one is a Prestige output.

Two sessions, both from 1953.

The Swedish musicians are superb ! It´s the creme de la creme of the then active swedish musicians, Lars Gullin, Arne Domnerus, Bengt Hallberg (it seems that he influenced Ray Bryant), and the combination with Art Farmer, both then in Lionel Hamptons gang I think.

And the Dameron session with Philly J.J., one of the best Dameron sessions. The Atlantic City band. And Benny Golson is great on his "Don Byas" styled tenor.
