HutchFan Posted August 28, 2018 Report Posted August 28, 2018 (edited) NP: Milt Jackson - Second Nature: The Savoy Sessions (Savoy, rec. 1956) with Lucky Thompson (ts), Hank Jones [or Wade Legge] (p), Wendell Marshall (b), and Kenny Clarke (d) Bags and Lucky Thompson together with that rhythm section. No surprise that this is so good.   Earlier, while driving home from work: Elvis Presley - Walk a Mile in My Shoes: The Essential 70's Masters (RCA) Disc 3 Surprisingly potent music, even when it shouldn't be. The guy could just sing, and that can get lost in the shuffle sometimes. Edited August 28, 2018 by HutchFan Quote
jeffcrom Posted August 28, 2018 Report Posted August 28, 2018 Â Â Nat Adderley - In the Bag (Jazzland OJC). An overlooked album featuring several fine New Orleans musicians. Miles Davis - the Airegin/Oleo session, from the Prestige Chronicle box set. AMM - AMMMusic 1966 (Matchless). This 1989 CD issue has track divisions so that you can program to listen to the original LP edit. That's what I'm doing tonight. Quote
paul secor Posted August 28, 2018 Report Posted August 28, 2018 (edited) Marion Brown: Three for Shepp Jeff and someone else (can't recall who right now - sorry) posted that they listened to this recently.
