Continuing my evening of CT music with:

Clark After Dark: The Ballad Artistry of Clark Terry (MPS)
It's fun to hear Terry do his thing over these enormous, swoony arrangements.  Most of them are by Peter Herbolzheimer, who also conducts the orchestra.

I agree on both counts. It seems like it wouldn't work. But it comes off wonderfully. In fact, it seems like there's a tangible simpatico vibe between Brubeck & Rushing.
