Two winners back-to-back ....

Indeed! Two recent acquisitions (I have and love Destination...Out!, but strangely never got around to Evolution and One Step Beyond: quite a power trio).
Bley and "Blood" are great (with young Altschul at times approaching self-combustion :)

Superb music .... great sounding edition ....

Yes, it's a DSD remaster from 2014. Perhaps some day we will see more stuff like 52nd Street Theme saved from oblivion, though not if it's up to Sonny, of course.

Konitz/Marsh ‘Live at the Corner House, Whitley Bay (!) 1975’ CD 2

orig.jpg

Venue obviously inspired by the Sing Song Room of the Confucius Restaurant

"Lord," I thought, "that looks like England!"

And so it is. Gor blimey O'Reilley!!!!

Is that the actual album sleeve? Nah, it's not square. But was it recorded there?

Yep, Whitley Bay, Northumberland, right on the NE Coast. The upper photo is of the venue in recent years. The lower photo is of the gig itself. The other musicians were Dave Cliff, Peter Ind and Al Levitt. Extremely good music.

I always associated Whitley Bay with extremely dubious 1970s ‘dance’ venues and not Konitz/Marsh.

The time was 10.35 pm, the date 22 Dec 1975 and hence the balloons on the walls. :D

I saw the same rhythm section in 1984 at the Exchange Theatre, Manchester with a front line of Jimmy Deuchar, Slide Hampton and Johnny Griffin. Needless to say, it was an excellent session.
