Dan Gould
Started to find out around Christmas time how many recordings Red made in his later years on European labels, this may be one of the best I've found. "Teach Me Tonight" as a lowdown dirty blues is nothing short of a perfect combination of artist and tune. How come no one ever thought of that before? Also reminds me of Blue Hour and makes me lament that while Red recorded with Gene once or twice, they never combined for an hour of this type of programming. That would have been as perfect as Gene and Stan were.

Dan Gould
Hell Yeah, have enjoyed that for many years. I'm just glad to hear several new recordings by Red, it seemed like his domestic releases slowed significantly in the 2000s, until I came across one recording on jazzmessengers.com and that made me search more actively. JSngry
Liking it more than I did back then, but the sound of John Scofield's comp (here, not in general) is jarring and unpleasant to me.
