Larry Kart
Been dipping into Puente's Concord latin jazz albums lately. Not a dud so far. I like the charts, the soloists (e.g Hilton Ruiz), the variety, and especially the choice of tempos. E.g. on this one "Flight to Jordan" is just a bit "up" from where it usually lies, and very effectively so.

jeffcrom
Spontaneous Music Ensemble - Quintessence (Emanem). I'm listening to the entire February 3, 1974 concert - something I don't think I've ever done before. Some of the most stunning improvised music ever recording. I might even continue on into the 1973 odds and ends. Â Edited December 3, 2017 by jeffcrom

HutchFan
Count Basie Meets Oscar Peterson - The Timekeepers (Pablo / OJC) Lately, I've really been enjoying the Basie/OP small-group collaborations on Pablo. They made five LPs together. All of them are worth checking out, IMO.  Oscar Peterson & Clark Terry (Pablo / OJC) Wonderful duets.
