duaneiac Posted November 12, 2017 Report Posted November 12, 2017 (edited) The title might be a tad misleading. While this concert was presented at the request of the White House, it was actually performed over by the Washington Monument. 4 tracks by the DBQ, 6 tracks by Mr. Bennett with the Ralph Sharon Trio and then 4 tracks by Mr. Bennett with the DB Trio. Larry Kart Posted November 12, 2017 Report Posted November 12, 2017 So far, right up there with "Daphnis and Chloe." Superb performance, too. Sadly, the talented conductor David Shallon died quite young (1950-2000). Quote

Bluesnik Posted November 12, 2017 Report Posted November 12, 2017 Good title for a guitar album. Plus Wayne is sporting (and I assume also playing), I think, the same guitar I play, on the cover. A D'Angelico Excel archtop. But the album is not so good. Quote

For one thing, it has some of the finest Don Joseph on record. Quote

I like it also. Very good Don Joseph, and even though I wish that Chuck Wayne had played some slightly more extended solos, I like his playing too. Quote
