HutchFan Posted November 6, 2017 Report Posted November 6, 2017 Dave Liebman Group - Blues All Ways (OmniTone, 2007) I prefer the later version of this band -- as on this CD -- because Vic Juris took on a more prominent role after Phil Markowitz left. Juris is an interesting guitarist, and I think he works especially well as Liebman's primary foil. paul secor Posted November 7, 2017 Report Posted November 7, 2017 (edited) Smiley Lewis: New Orleans Bounce (Sequel) Whenever I listen to Smiley Lewis, I'm always surprised at how little commercial success he had. He made a lot of great records. He had the bad luck to be covered by Gale Storm ("I Hear You Knocking"), Elvis ("One Night"), and by his label make Fats Domino ("Blue Monday"), but he recorded a lot of other fine records that never made it.
