Peter Friedman Posted Thursday at 05:56 PM Report Posted Thursday at 05:56 PM When this music was first released on vinyl back many many decades ago I loved it immediately. With Jackie McLean, Bill Hardman and Art Blakey, The title of the album says it all. Was highly pleased when Mosaic reissued it on CD. Quote

I definitely know his name, can't think from where at the moment Quote

It suffers from tracks being too short and fading out, but there are lots of interesting ideas. Quote

clifford_thornton Posted Thursday at 08:37 PM Report Posted Thursday at 08:37 PM yes, the same David Lee. I quite like that record, but haven't dug it out in a very long time. Quote
JSngry Posted Thursday at 09:18 PM Author Report Posted Thursday at 09:18 PM Then I have that record, and concur with the comments above. I still wonder whatever happened to him. Helluva good drummer. NP thanks to a Spotify suggestion: Transparent, you can listen and not listen, if you know what I mean. In a good way. Quote

I realise I was thinking of another David Lee, a bass player with the Bill Smith Ensemble. Quote

A bit like a soundtrack or library record in the way it presents short snippets of excellent ideas but then moves on too fast. Edited Thursday at 10:36 PM by Rabshakeh Quote

Like a bizarro universe at times, but truly involving. I hadn't realised that it was out yet. Just purchased and will be listening to it tomorrow. Great track titles. Quote
rostasi Posted Friday at 02:39 AM Report Posted Friday at 02:39 AM Getting ready to unbox the new computer and replace my cherished 15 year old one that, mechanically, still works great, but has probs with old software and browsers. I'm having to reorganize my filing systems since I'll no longer have the luxury of drive "drawers" that I have now in my older Mac Tower. Anyway, it also comes at a time when I've just uploaded my 2,000,000th tune to my iTunes [which, I guess will soon be "Apple Music"(?)]. I'm also gonna miss the two CD drawers that I've used for over a quarter century to upload discs to the collection. Oh well..."progress" marches on... This is #2,000,000: Quote

Like a Dream Band ! I had first heard Dușco on an Enia Record titled "After Hours" . The thing with Woody Shaw, I have an album of them playing at Uncle Poe´s in Hamburg, Germania, and it is great. But I was a bit astonished that the most prominent of them all, Woody Shaw did not get top billing, Stafford James remained Woody´s bassist, but I saw him with Tony Reedus on drums, who was also great !
