Proof that if there is a heaven, it will have an organ group.

If you get there and there's not one, demand a recount. And don't let them try and con you.

Angela Hewill “Beethoven: Piano Sonatas Vol.7” Hyperion SACD

Thought about my Dad a lot since Thanksgiving and pulled this out to listen to. . . some of his favorite music.

I was at one of the shows the week they recorded that album. Everyone at the shows were given a voucher to receive the album when it was released. Never heard of anyone doing that before or since. Very special.

Rain and warmer temps today. . . welcome indeed.

Starting off the day with a cd that a listener on another board brought to my attention, thanks amigo.

A great cd! Mark Turner is the icing on the cake for me, but the leader delivers.

I saw Lupri a few times when he was going to Berklee and bought "Shadow of the Vibe" & "Window Up Window Down" from him back in the day.

Cool. I've ordered more of his work while listening to the cd, including those two.

For some reason, this album usually gets overlooked among all the focus on Blue Note records. It is a very fine recording with some wonderful playing by Thad, Gigi Gryce, & Tommy Flanagan. It also features some of my favorite playing by Elvin Jones.
