HutchFan Posted November 21 Report Posted November 21 Next up: Lars Danielsson, David Liebman, Jon Christensen, Bobo Stenson - Far North (Curling Legs NO, 1994) As spare and ECM-ish as you might expect. It was even recorded in Rainbow Studio in Oslo. Quote
mikeweil Posted November 21 Report Posted November 21 Had to cancel a listening session at a friend's place with a very expensive Hi-Fi, so I stay in bed listening to some of the CDs I selected to bring, all solo piano: Quote

jazzbo Posted November 22 Report Posted November 22 (edited) At the moment the cd version of this seems only available in Japan, but I had to have a copy so I ordered one and it arrived yesterday. Would have been prohibitively expensive, but I had a lot of points with cdjapan which defrayed the cost. Joel Ross is on board, one reason that I ordered but I do have almost all of Hill’s previous releases and enjoy the musical journeys he leads one on. jazzbo Posted November 22 Report Posted November 22 Should be a good show. And now finishing up listening to . . . . The amazing SACD stereo/quad release of Santana “Borboletta” from Sony. This recording is part of my listening foundation, I’ve enjoyed it ever since its first release and man it has never sounded better (listening to the stereo SACD layer). Just such a great sequenced, mixed and performed album now in sonic glory. Quote
John Tapscott Posted November 22 Report Posted November 22 (edited) George Coleman is in outstanding form on the tracks I've listened to so far (a little over half of the set). Edited November 22 by John Tapscott Quote
