jazzbo Posted October 27 Report Posted October 27 (edited) Eric Alexander "Mode for Mabes" Delmark cd ] Another cold morning! This is helping me ease into the day. Edited October 27 by jazzbo Quote
jazzbo Posted October 27 Report Posted October 27 Disc 3. I’m really enjoying the music and the mastering on this box set. Seems that this vintage period of jazz is less appreciated than others, but I’ve long enjoyed these players and their work. Listening to Bob Crosby singing brings back memories of my Dad singing these sort of songs to we kids back when we were little. He had a very similar voice and style. Cracked us up! Wish I could hear it again. Enjoying George Wettling’s drumming on these discs. He was quite a drummer and artist! Quote
Rabshakeh Posted October 27 Report Posted October 27 Phineas Newborn Jr. Plays Harold Arlen's Music from Jamaica Really more of an AK Salim record than a Newborn Jr one. 53 minutes ago, jazzbo said: Disc 3. I wouldn't know where to start with Crosby but I like what I've heard. Quote

Peter Friedman Posted October 27 Report Posted October 27 Jack Jones - Where Is Love Rather disappointing. Most of the songs he sang on this album were uninteresting for me. Quote
