Streaming is responsible for a lot of bad stuff, but it is amazing that I can just download a record as rare as this and listen to it on the walk home.

Yep.  For the most part, musical scarcity -- like it used to exist -- is a thing of the past.

During my college days, when I was first exploring jazz, I could only imagine what music that I read about in magazines & books (from the library!) sounded like.  I was limited both by my budget and by the availability of the music.  Now, most things are just a few clicks away.  Even the rare stuff.

Of course, the all-you-can-eat buffet of streaming presents a new & different set of difficulties.

As ever, things ain't what they used to be.  ;)

I would say the same thing about my first decade of jazz exploration. Then the boom of jazz reissues on cd made things amazingly delightful. . . and since then so many discs are still available and coming out (I don't stream). . . it's a wonderful time to be a music fan.

Another Miles. . . this time “My Funny Valentine” Sony Blu-Spec CD2. This is a remaster of the Mark Wilder remix and mastering. I usually listen to the MoFi SACD of the original mix. . . this is an interesting listen and sounds very good.
