No - Goodman, the Dorseys, Bix, Pee Wee, Teagarden, Hoagy and less famed.

T.D.
This is a pretty good album, but after a couple of listens I was struck by how much the first track sounds like a Billy Harper ensemble! [The other tracks less so.]

jazzbo
“Introducing Millie Vernon” Storyville/Muzak Japan cd I’d never heard of Vernon, but with this band and as it’s one of the superb reissues from Muzak Japan. . . I tried it out. She reminds me of June Christy and Chris Connor. But with a different sense of swing and feel. Nice record! Bass – Wyatt Reuther Drums – Jo Jones Guitar – Jimmy Raney Piano – Dave McKenna Trumpet – Ruby Braff Vocals – Milli Vernon Edited July 26 by jazzbo

mjzee
I listened to this earlier today: I have it on a Black Lion CD that also includes a Braxton/Leo Smith/Leroy Jenkins album called "Silence", which I can do without. But I do like the Braxton/Teitelbaum duets. I have two other albums by them: (which I don't think was ever released on CD), and:

jazzbo
Gary Peacock Trio “Eastward” Sony HiFiCD Gary Peacock (bass) Masaaki Kikuchi (piano) Hiroshi Murakami (drums) Man, he was a master player and a deep musical mind. And this is a very interesting recording. In the Keith Jarrett Trio “exploratory mode” tradition.
