I'm a huge fan of this record.  LT's other Groove Merchant album, I Offer You, is terrific too. . . . On both albums, Thompson's soprano playing (in particular) is just gorgeous.  We're talking Johnny Hodges-like liquidity and shapeliness -- but on a soprano, not an alto.

I have both the double-LP vinyl release and this 1989 two-CD version with "I Remember Clifford" as a bonus cut.   

I only collect & keep really special recordings in multiple formats.  This is one of them.  Primo Getz.

 

Do you any of you do the same (only keeping favorites in multi formats)?
