Back in 1991-ish I saw him a number of times in Alberta in the local jazz clubs and had chance to say hi. The story I heard was that he was planning to move there to take up a music academy job but there were problems with immigration. A friendly guy as I recall and an excellent drummer of course. I did have tickets for his Fo'Tet tour in 1992 but that one fell through. Yes, very enthusiastic attitude to the music, which will be missed. Edited February 27, 2024 by sidewinder Quote
