Here it is Thank you, @jazzcorner. Very interesting stuff. Allison's voice comes through in this interview just as clearly as it does in his songs; for example: "We're all dumb, but some of us are dumber than others." Quote

Maybe they can convince the Goodman estate to allow the release of the Goodman/Christian and Goodman/Prez material in the Savory collection. Do people remember the Lp where they spliced together Christian solos from different takes of the same song? My sense is that the Goodman estate is just about the hardest one to deal with in the entire jazz world. Quote

jazzbo Posted January 28, 2024 Report Posted January 28, 2024 Antonio Carlos Jobim and Banda Nova “Familia” Som Livre cd (also issued as “Amazonas”) Almost 20 years after the masterwork “Matita Pere” Tom and his band of friends and family revisit much of the material in condensed new arrangements. The production and mix by Jacques Morelenbaum are part of the unique, dense sound this one has, and the four lovely singers in the chorus bring an extra alluring texture. A good one indeed for a rainy Sunday morning. Quote

I like all Roebke's leader dates, this is different, more improv less written I'll hazard a guess. Pianist Mabel Kwan and drummer Marcus Evans are new names to me which is often a good thing This and the new Mazurek on CvsD arrived yesterday Quote
