This disc sounds amazing. It´s wonderful, just wonderful. One of my few vocal albums. I mostly listen to male vocals and like very much Johnny Hartman, Earl Coleman and of course Billy Eckstine. jazzbo Posted November 5, 2023 Report Posted November 5, 2023 (edited) The second disc of this release, Lewis on tenor with a string quartet, the Lutosławski Quartet–my favorite of the two discs. Challenging, emotional . . .lovely! James Brandon Lewis “For Mahalia, with Love” Edited November 5, 2023 by jazzbo Quote

Pim Posted November 5, 2023 Report Posted November 5, 2023 (edited) This German cd pressing must be the worst cd sounding I have. Is it the pressing or the recording? The distortian is almost unbearable at times. It's insanely good though. Cecil Bridgewater, Enrico Rava, Charles Sullivan, Sonny Fortune, Carlos Ward, Roland Alexander, John Stubblefield, Hamiet Bluiett, Cecil McBee and the great Roy Brooks....
