Especially the Cirillo tracks toward the end. I'm a fan of those early Mingus with La Porta etc so this sat nicely with them Next up, to accompany some work admin Duane Tatro - Jazz For Moderns Quote

Rabshakeh Posted September 4, 2023 Report Posted September 4, 2023 (edited) Stan Kenton - Contemporary Concepts This is one I'd listened to a few times before. Some really good solos and not too much gimmickry. Definitely a Kenton I've enjoyed. 18 minutes ago, jazzcorner said: 😁👍 have it with this cover Great cover. 57 minutes ago, mjazzg said: Johnny Hunter, Mark Hanslip, Olie Brice - Divisions [Discus] How's that. I know Brice (thanks to you) but not the other two. June Christy and Stan Kenton – Duet This one is good too. I'm not a huge Christy fan, and definitely not a Kenton "guy" (despite the recent splurge), but this record is what it should be. Edited September 4, 2023 by Rabshakeh Quote
