I know that it says “experimental, baroque”, but that really is the closest one can get when it comes to a description. I’m actually including it in a set of something close to obscure ”avant-folk” for the Aug. 9 radio show. She died of Covid right near the start of it in March of 2020. Guardian has an obit (they messed up the accent on the “e” - it should be grave rather than acute). Also, the obituary was written by a guy who actually died over two years before she did (!). Setting aside your legitimate complaint, what do you think of the song selection? I am going for noirish, world-weary, pulpish lyrics, capturing the mid-20th-century mood of urban isolation, with Cainesque, Chandleresque language. Here is the thread I started a while back: I'm sorry I cant help you on this topic or make suggestions because I'm mostly collecting instrumental music and only a few favorite vocals (Louis & Ella) & the Frosh, Hi-Los & Singers Unlimited + Frank naturally. Many of your Sinatra songs are here in the FS collection my late wife left me. 6 hours ago, Peter Friedman said: Edited July 23, 2023 by jazzcorner typo

Besides: The cover is one of the rare pics where the late Chet really looks like a cool cat! Edited July 24, 2023 by Balladeer
